At dawn on Thursday 18 April 2024, a small group of ten people including Zemburg owners and collaborators began their journey towards the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Our train left Mestre at 06:30, taking us to Milano Rho Fiera at 09:00.
The reason for this adventure? Not only to admire the wonders of design and furnishings, but to show our collaborators, both in the office and in production, the destination of our products.
From 09:00 to 16:00, we lived an intense and engaging experience, moving from one pavilion to another, touching the furniture on display, greeting our most loyal customers and meeting new potential customers. Yes, we walked a lot, and yes, we were tired, but the tiredness was softened by the satisfaction of seeing the fruit of our labor displayed and appreciated by many.
On the return train, while sleep courted us, I reflected on how precious this experience had been: we saw with our own eyes where the glass we produce is mounted; we gave context to our daily work; we have understood that what we produce are not just any pieces of glass, but pieces that become an integral part of people's daily lives, transforming into doors, tables, wardrobes, showers, cupboards, ...
Every day, with our work we contribute to creating something important for many people. Without us, the furniture world would lose something. Even though it may sometimes seem boring and repetitive, our work hides great value. These moments remind us how important what we do is and help us fight the alienation produced by industrial work.
